Today was ‘ride to work day’ so I dusted the cobwebs from my bike gear and braved the hills. Its a mere 7k, but since I have been ‘busy’ doing movies and working I have stopped my regular weekly ride. Usually I could do 70k without too much strain on the old bod, but today I realised how unfit I have got (even going to ‘Curves’ 3 times a week!). Having Colin unable to ride, due to health problems hasn’t helped. Its been 2-3 months now since I donned the lycra…….. well its not such a good look anyway!!
The trip home was much worse, as I had to contend with lots more traffic and the dreaded KENT RD hill. That hill never seems to end when you are riding up it. Apart from the strange looks from my colleagues, the traffic, the roundabouts and the car tooting at me, it was a pretty good.
It only took me 20 minutes, compared to 10 minutes by car. I think I should get the Orange peril out and ride to work more often. Its just so easy to get in the car and drive. WATCH THIS SPACE to see how many excuses I can come up with! Any helpful additional excuses from you guys would be gratefully accepted.
Good on you Jen! I’m amazed at how much of a fitness freak you have become over the last 10 years. I don’t know where you get all that energy from?
There’s no way I’d be wearing lycra in public, but I’m not such a skinny minnie like you. lol
